For the third year in a row, Hapa Izakaya partnered with the Night at the Aquarium gala fundraiser (held on June 13) to help raise money in support of the Vancouver Aquarium’s conservation, research, and education programs, including its Ocean Wise™ program.
“Support allows us to rescue and rehabilitate injured animals, to ignite the curiosity and passion of tomorrow’s conservationists, and to continue our work as a global leader in aquatic research.” said Dr. John Nightingale, Vancouver Aquarium president and CEO.
Guests were treated to mouth-watering, sustainable delights from 16 of B.C.’s top Ocean Wise restaurants while sipping wine, spirits and beer from an array of wineries and distilleries.
Chefs Daiji Tanaka and Nobutaka Watanabe proudly served Hapa’s signature Tuna Avocado Salsa Dip – lightly smoked Albacore Tuna, Ponzu Jelly, Red Onion, Shiso leaf; served on a deep fried wonton chip!
Thanks to the generosity of all in attendance, the night was a huge success, raising over $380,000 – our biggest year to date!
